What is the difference between these two men?
The 1st young man wanted to know what else should be done apart from his already done good behavior to have eternal life. The 2nd chief tax-farmer, during the mealtime with Lord, decided to give half his property to the poor and return 4 times as much if he took anything from anyone wrongly.
The 1st young man still cannot know he is just a sinner. Even he really gives all his property to the poor. He cannot get the salvation.
On the contrary, the 2nd knew that he is a sinner. He wants to reimburse the wrong doing so he return 4 times as much.
We know that we are all sinner or all The Bad, no exception.
Without knowing the sin, confessing being a sinner and having changes, one cannot have salvation.
