Christmas - Mathew & Luke

Christmas is coming. Let’s read some bible about the birth of our Lord. Mathew Ch. 1 – 2 and Luke Ch. 1 – 3.
Here are some points I get form Church.
1) Mathew introduced Lord in a King’s approach (from David to Joseph); Luke introduced Lord in a Human’s approach (from David to Mary). They told us that Lord has two identities – a glory king and humble man.
2) 25 Dec is unlikely the birth day of Lord. It is because the Angel told the shepherds in wild area at night. According to the practice of shepherds, they would not go out in winter at night. This date was fixed by Roman Catholic in 3-5 century AD as other religions have their saints or prophets birthday.
3) Bible does not tell us there are three wise men but three gifts – gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Besides, the wise men should meet Jesus at the age of 6 – 18 months because Bible mention “young child” in chapter Mathew 2:11. And that’s why Herald order to kill children under 2 years old.
